چکیده

Bessel beams (BBs) can be generated at microwave frequencies by means of compact, planar devices based on Fabry–Perot cavity leaky-wave resonators. Most designs are the excitation a single transverse magnetic/transverse electric (TM/TE) leaky mode vertical electric/magnetic dipole source. In this work, we analyze important case horizontal magnetic dipole, which excites both TM and TE modes, developing an original theoretical framework suitable for resonant radiators. Analytical expressions provided dominant aperture field. The near-field distribution is then evaluated through accurate numerical integration radiating currents validated full-wave simulations relevant BB launcher when excited waveguide-fed slot. Different presented analyzed in order to obtain TM, TE, hybrid polarizations, finding all cases excellent agreement between results. Finally, evaluate compare wireless-power-transfer efficiency two coupled TM-, TE-, or hybrid-polarized launchers wireless link established radiative region. Interestingly, results demonstrate superior performance polarization with respect nonresonant case.

A Finite-Difference Time-Domain Beam-Propagation Method for TE- and TM-Wave Analyses

The application of the existing time-domain beampropagation method (TD-BPM) based on the finite-difference (FD) formula has been limited to the TE-mode analysis. To treat the TM mode as well as the TE mode, an improved TD-BPM is developed using a low-truncation-error FD formula with the aid of the alternating-direction implicit scheme. To improve the accuracy in time, a Padé (2,2) approximant i...

Explicit TE/TM scheme for particle beam simulations

In this paper we propose an explicit two-level conservative scheme based on a TE/TM like splitting of the field components in time. Its dispersion properties are adjusted to accelerator problems. It is simpler and faster than the implicit version [1]. It does not have dispersion in the longitudinal direction and the dispersion properties in the transversal plane are improved. The explicit chara...

TE and TM beam decomposition of time-harmonic electromagnetic waves.

The present contribution is concerned with applying beam-type expansion to planar aperture time-harmonic electromagnetic field distribution in which the propagating elements, the electromagnetic beam-type wave objects, are decomposed into transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) field constituents. This procedure is essential for applying Maxwell's boundary conditions for solving d...

Ultra-high-Q TE/TM dual-polarized photonic crystal nanocavities.

We demonstrate photonic crystal nanobeam cavities that support both TE- and TM-polarized modes, each with a Q factor greater than one million and a mode volume on the order of the cubic wavelength. We show that these orthogonally polarized modes have a tunable frequency separation and a high nonlinear spatial overlap. We expect these cavities to have a variety of applications in resonance-enhan...

A Near-Field Dual Polarized (TE–TM) Microwave Imaging System

In this paper, we introduce a novel dual polarized microwave imaging system. The system is comprised of a circular array of multiplexed antennas, distributed evenly around an object-of-interest (OI), along with a novel plurality of probes located at the antennas’ apertures. Each probe consists of several p-i-n diodes biased in two different states (open and short). The probes are used to measur...
